Mr Yuta Watanabe is an experienced global R&D leader in the healthcare industry, with over 25 years at Astellas Pharma Inc., where he contributed to research, development, and new business initiatives. In 2022, he joined Meiji Seika Pharma Co., Ltd., and has held his current leadership role in the R&D Division since 2024. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in the development and regulatory approval of more than 10 compounds across multiple therapeutic areas. He has also been instrumental in building new business domains, including digital health solutions.

Mr Yuta Watanabe brings strong expertise in global drug development, as well as a proven track record in licensing, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and investment activities. He is passionate about fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, diversity, and inclusion, while nurturing entrepreneurial thinking and talent to deliver meaningful impact for patients and society.
