Dr Gan Chye Chung is a Consultant Interventional Nephrologist and General Nephrologist in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, known for advanced vascular access interventions. He lectures at Universiti Malaya and practices at University Malaya Medical Centre and UM Specialist Centre. He is the first Malaysian-trained interventional nephrologist specializing in complex endovascular dialysis access procedures.

His qualifications include an MBBS from AIMST University and MRCP from London and Edinburgh, with fellowships (FRCP and FRCPE). He holds certifications in interventional nephrology from Singapore and Japan, and received the ISN scholarship in 2021.

He specializes in ultrasound-guided access, catheter insertion, renal biopsies, and endovascular techniques like fistuloplasty, venoplasty, and angioplasty. He established a multidisciplinary service at UMMC.

He is Treasurer-elect of MSDIN and contributes to research and international presentations, advancing nephrology training in Malaysia. He remains committed to improving patient outcomes through innovation education collaboration and development of sustainable vascular access services nationwide across regions.
