Dr. Amy Hwong is a clinical epidemiologist and currently serves as the Head of the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology at the Institute for Clinical Research (ICR), National Institutes of Health (NIH) within the Ministry of Health Malaysia. She is also affiliated as an associated scientist with Julius Global Health, University Medical Center Utrecht in the Netherlands.
She has a background in clinical medicine and holds a Master’s and PhD degree in Epidemiology from Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Dr Hwong has published peer-reviewed articles and has presented her work at numerous local and international conferences.
Her research interest includes improving the delivery of stroke care in Malaysia. In her current leadership position, her research portfolio has expanded to encompass broader areas of clinical epidemiology work including cardiovascular research, cancer, and palliative care.
