Dr Chan Huan Keat earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2008 and completed his Doctorate in Social and Administrative Pharmacy in 2023. He currently serves as Head of the Center for Clinical Trial (CCT) under the National Institutes of Health, Malaysia, supporting investigator-initiated trials. From 2022 to 2025, he was Special Officer to the Director-General of Health and Deputy Director of Health (Research and Technical Support), and previously worked at the Clinical Research Centre, Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah (2016–2022).

His research spans pharmacy practice, public health, and internal medicine. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and received multiple accolades, including three Dr Wu Lien-Teh Young Investigator Awards and two overall wins at the National Pharmacy R&D Conference. His hepatitis C work improved access to diagnostics and treatment in Malaysia. Trained in biostatistics and research methodology, he actively leads multidisciplinary research and workshops, and aims to continue contributing to healthcare advancement.
