Chan Yoke-Fun is Professor of Virology at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Malaysia. Her research focuses on emerging and re-emerging viruses of public health importance, including enterovirus A71, SARS-CoV-2, chikungunya, Zika, and influenza viruses. Her work integrates molecular virology, epidemiological surveillance, and translational research to inform the development of antivirals and vaccines. She is particularly interested in how longitudinal surveillance data can guide target prioritisation and accelerate clinical development pathways.

Professor Chan has received several prestigious recognitions, including the L’Oréal-UNESCO Malaysia National Fellowship (2014), L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talents (2015), and the ASEAN-US Science Prize for Women (2020).
