Melissa is a Pharmacist with a PhD in Medical Science from Okayama University, Japan. Her interests include access to cancer care, and women’s cancers, theranostics and pharmacogenetics. She is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak since July 2022 and was previously a clinical pharmacist for 13 years. She is a former UICC Young Leader (2021/2022) and recipient of the Prof. Yoo Hang Kim Young Women Scientist Award (2024). A member of MASCC, ESMO, and MPS, Melissa has led multiple national and industry research projects. She co-founded the Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness (SCAN) Kuching, supports local NGOs, and has led breast cancer outreach across rural Sarawak since 2012, impacting over 2500 women in the region.
