Dr. Kenichi Nakamura is the Director of the Department of International Clinical Development at the National Cancer Center Hospital, Japan, and the Project Leader of the ATLAS project. He has extensive experience in the management of a wide range of clinical trials, from early-phase investigator-initiated registration-directed trials to large-scale pragmatic trials. As an expert in clinical trial operations and regulation, he has been actively involved in several international initiatives, including the revision of ICH-GCP, collaborative research with EORTC, and the International Rare Cancers Initiative (IRCI), a global collaboration to promote clinical research in rare cancers. More recently, he has also been engaged in advancing the use of decentralized clinical trials, AI, and digital technologies to enhance the design and implementation of future clinical trials.
